Nancy McHugh was born and raised in Connecticut where she learned to sew when she was 6 years old from her mother and grandmother. After retiring from teaching, she moved to this area 5 years ago. She is constantly looking for ways to create things that are unique, making use of tutorials whenever she can find them.
She has always sold items online as a hobby until more recently. She loves to make use of things that might be overlooked or tossed out, giving things new life and creating something unique out of something old. Many of these items have been works in progress for a few years. She hopes buyers will appreciate that her creations are unique and well made. She creates denim items such as up cycled denim jackets, embroidered skirts, and denim aprons. These items are all made from recycled denim pieces of clothing. She also creates fabric playing card holders (which are very popular), painted pinecone flowers, and framed Scrabble items.
If someone has a denim jacket or a skirt that they would want up cycled, she can work with them on making what they have imagined. She can also create items using NFL or MLB fabric if someone has a favorite team.
