Junk Journaling for Beginners with Lori Bowers CL-LB460
SATURDAY, August 31 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
COST is $15.00
This is a beginner’s guide to Junk Journaling to be held on Saturday, August 31 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Lori Bowers will be demonstrating different techniques and tips on how to create master-boards, cards, pockets, tags, flip spots, distressing/antiquing pages and painting papers. She will also discuss upcycling items already in your home to create little to no cost journal pages. She is passionate about utilizing materials that might otherwise be thrown out. Small ephemera or tag kits will be given to each participant for use in future projects. All supplies will be provided for only $15.00. However, for fun, bring a decorative page from a glossy magazine, and she will demonstrate how to turn it into a distressed/antiqued image suitable for journaling.

Introduction to Hand Carving for Christmas with Chris Brickle CL-CB459

Learn the basics of whittling and wood carving in this class with Christopher Brickle. He will teach you what it takes to get started, the tools required, safety precautions, etc. You will be taught basic cuts and safe carving techniques. He will share available resources for learning. You will be given 2 patterns from which to carve a Christmas Tree and a Santa Dog in class with Christopher’s guidance.

Beaded 5×7 Suncatcher with Tammy Zitzka CL-TZ462
COST is $30.00
In this class Tammy will teach students how to create a field of flowers using beads displayed in a 5×7 frame. The frame comes with a hanger to display in front of a window or on a wall.

In our rescheduled class in October we will be using all the stencils in Brenda Preuss’ personal collection to create panels for your creations. We will use different sizes to show how they can be useful on A2 cards. We will use layering stencils and show the use of Sizzix Stencil & Stamp Tool. We will use different coloring methods: sprays, blending brushes, pastes, etc.
