CLASS SCHEDULE

Beginning in 2018 ALL CLASSES MUST BE PRE-PAID.

To register & pre-pay class fee with credit card use the Buy Now buttons, call the FACS Store at (931) 210-5599, or stop by the FACS Store.

To easily view the entire schedule by month, select the CLASS/EVENT CALENDAR on the Menu Selections. You can then go to the specific class and date, using your back arrow to return to the Calendar.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

By STUDENT:     The student enrolled may cancel their pre-paid class registration at least 24 hours before the start of class for a full refund with the exception of out-of-state instructors. Each out-of-state instructor will handle cancellations in their own way. Each local instructor will process a later cancellation or a no-show in their own way. This may mean a partial refund or an even exchange for a future class with that particular instructor.
BY INSTRUCTOR:    The instructor may cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment or personal emergency. In this case, the student can choose to exchange their pre-payment for any future class with the same or smaller fee or to receive a complete refund.

Remember How to Use Mica Powders? with Brenda Preuss (CL-BP863)                      

In this class Brenda will remind you about the magic of mica powders. Whether you have Pearl Ex powders, Perfect Pearls, Magicals, Powdered Pigments or Fx Powders, they will all work for these techniques. Like all of the “Remember How To” classes, this one is for beginners and experienced paper crafters, alike. These powders are wonderful when used in your journals and on your mixed media projects. Introduction to Paper Quilling with Theresa Hunter-Snow (CL-TS865)                     

If you have never been in a class of Theresa’s, then you will be in for a treat when you sign up for this often requested class. In this class you will learn several basic quilling folds and create some lovely projects with the results.

In this class you will use your previously learned quilling techniques to create a lovely project which will be shown as soon as possible.

Wirey Hearts Tri-Fold Card with Susan Smathers (CL-SS868)

Susan will share her knowledge of wire-wrapping in the creation of some simple yet lovely hearts to be used on a unique Tri-Fold Card perfect for Valentines Day, Anniversary or any special day for a loved one. Susan’s teaching skills makes using wire so easy. Come learn from her experience.

Star Book with Brenda Preuss (CL-BP869)

A Star Book looks like a normal handmade book on the outside. Open it up and tie the ends together and you have a gorgeous dimensional star. We will make a star book with your choice of a few themes. If you would like to suggest a particular theme or color, please let us know at registration time.

Raku for Paper with Brenda Preuss (CL-BP871)

Raku is one of Brenda’s favorite looks in pottery. Some years ago she used the products available to create some raku looks using paper as the surface rather than clay. We will do this again with updated products, creating some greeting cards in the process. Each result will be a little different, just like actual raku.

Basics of Watercolor & Acrylics with Jean Corbett (CL-JC873)

A class designed to give an overview of watercolor and acrylics so that a person knows what to buy to begin painting, the properties of the paint and brushes, and the materials needed to begin to paint.

  • What is watercolor paint?
  • What is acrylic paint?
  • What brushes are needed for each type of paint?
  • What paper or canvas or other materials can be painted?
  • Overview of the various looks of both paints when completed
  • Basic color mixing using basic colors – red, yellow, blue (plus white and black in acrylic)
    • Create your own color chart
    • Experiment with each medium and create a small painting
  • A suggested beginning materials list for each type of paint

The class fee includes a basic kit with which to work in class.

Follow up classes in each medium including watercolor, acrylic and experimental paints will be scheduled following this class.

Play with Everything Pebeo with Brenda Preuss (CL-BP870)

Pebeo provides us with such wonderfully unique paints that we just have to play with them all. In this class you will have that opportunity. I will give you some descriptions and examples of each type of paint. Then you are free to play and experiment. The result will be your own unique mixed-media project.





May 12, 2018  Saturday  $15 in FACS’ Classroom

Fun with Leftovers with Lorraine Revalee (CL-LR872)

This is one of Lorraine & Brenda’s most popular classes. In this class you will have the opportunity to create your own personal cards with Brenda’s huge stash of leftovers from all their previous classes. We will have boxes and boxes of things to use. This is a great class for releasing your creativity and creating several one-of-a-kind greeting cards with the guidance of our favorite card designer.
