CLASS/EVENT SCHEDULE

ALL CLASSES MUST BE PRE-PAID BEFORE YOUR NAME IS REGISTERED.

To register & pre-pay class fee with credit card use the Buy Now buttons, call the FACS Store at (931) 210-5599, or stop by the FACS Store.

To easily view the entire schedule by month, select the CLASS/EVENT CALENDAR on the Menu Selections. You can then go to the specific class and date, using your back arrow to return to the Calendar.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

By STUDENT:     The student enrolled may cancel their pre-paid class registration at least 24 hours before the start of class for a full refund with the exception of out-of-state instructors. Each out-of-state instructor will handle cancellations in their own way. Each local instructor will process a later cancellation or a no-show in their own way. This may mean a partial refund or an even exchange for a future class with that particular instructor.
BY INSTRUCTOR:    The instructor may cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment or personal emergency. In this case, the student can choose to exchange their pre-payment for any future class with the same or smaller fee or to receive a complete refund.

Wire Wrapped Earrings with Susan Smathers (CL-SS914) 

Do you have an interest in learning to make your own unique earrings?  Do you have a friend or family member that you would like to give a handmade pair of earrings as a Valentine or Birthday gift?  This workshop is for you.  Susan will teach how to make a variety of wire links that can be mixed and matched to create earrings.  You will be able to choose the beads you would like to use and the color of wire you prefer.  One of the pairs of earrings will include a heart in the design.  This class will take you through the planning stages of making these jewelry pieces, choosing the tools needed, and constructing a finished product. All you need to bring is your interest.  Susan will provide the supplies. You are welcome to bring any jewelry tools you own. Think about bringing a friend or a family member along to do this workshop together.

Basket Class Canceled due to low enrollment

Heart Basket Class with Kris Foss (CL-KF915) 

In this class Kris will teach you how to prepare the reeds for weaving, explaining how to create the shape of the basket in a heart. Again this is just in time for gift giving for Valentines. A sample of this basket is in FACS. More information will follow. When registering, ask about the materials you will need to bring with you. The reeds used will be provided along with extra kits if you would like to purchase some for $12 each.

Valentine Infinity Card with Brenda Preuss (CL-BP912) 

An example of an Infinity Card (or Never-Ending Card) can be seen in our store. It’s difficult to show it’s true form with a picture or two. It’s basically a card that can be opened a multitude of ways showing different images with each fold. In this class you will be using stamps and die-cuts to decorated the various panels with heart shaped designs, not with decorative paper as shown below. Brenda thought Valentines and Infinity work well together. An example has not been made for this particular Valentines class but will be posted as soon as it is ready.

Basics Of Watercolor Painting with Carole Cullen (CL-CC910) 

This is a beginner class to introduce you to watercolors and what they can do.

We will have yellow, red, blue paints in both transparent and opaque to work with. Using just those primary color, we will learn to mix oh the palette and on the painting to make lively paintings without mudding up our colors. During class we will doe exercises with color and then complete 1 or 2 5×7 painting depending on the time allowed.

This is a great class for beginners or anyone who would like a brief review of watercolor mixing. All supplies will be provided. To register you must be at least 16 years old.

Basics of Oil Painting with Carole Cullen

This is a beginners class to introduce you to oil paints and what they can do.

We will cover transparent and opaque colors, thinners, blenders and canvas choices. We will use transparent colors for our underpainting and detail work. Opaque colors will be used to finish the painting and add highlights. During class we will do exercises with color and then complete an 8×10 painting.

This is a great class for those who have wanted to try oils but did not want to invest in supplies. All materials will be provided. To register you must be at least 16 years old.
